NYC Climate Alliance - Creating an Alliance to Achieve NYC's 80x50 Goals - Sept 21
Event Description
Creating an Alliance to Achieve 80x50
A NYC Climate Action Alliance forum
Thursday, Sep 21, 2017 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm
The NYC Climate Action Alliance will be holding a panel discussion focused on how New York City’s businesses, institutions, NGOs and individuals can work together to assist the City in achieving its goal of reducing carbon emissions by 80 percent by 2050.
Working on their own, each of New York City’s sectors -- and many individuals -- are making significant progress in energy efficiency and emission reductions. The NYC Climate Action Alliance believes that by working together in an informal, well-publicized alliance these sectors can achieve synergies that would not otherwise be possible.
The program will focus on what the City is doing to advance its 80x50 goal, how New York City businesses, institutions and NGOs are supporting the City in reaching 80x50 and the progress being made by the NYC Climate Action Alliance towards creating the a multi-sector alliance to amplify these actions.
Expected speakers include representatives of the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability, the NYC Bar Association’s Environmental Law Committee, the NY League of Conservation Voters and the Building Energy Exchange, as well as those of New York’s business and environmental justice communities.
