Virtual Nooniversity: Midwest Green Roof Case Study - Enhancing Stormwater Management, September 7, 12 pm CT
Event Description
After 15 years of custom growing midwest green roofs, we will focus this presentation on one green roof that holds a deeply personal place in the hearts of staff at Roof Top Sedums and has been delighting occupants of the building since installation in 2010.
Attendees will learn how this green roof came to be, the benefits realized, both intended and unintended, and lengths current occupants are going to raise funds to green more existing 'ugly' roofs on the building in the future.
Attendees will learn of new research regarding design options to enhance already impressive storm water management capabilities of green roofs. They will use the 'future green roof" desired by the case study roof to look at how much water could be managed with different green roof enhancements based on the newly released research to be discussed.
Enhancing the storm water management abilities of a green roof will not only help heal patients but could also heal our urban environment.
